Fastighet för ensamstående och
självförsörjande kvinnor
I photographed in a residential building in Stockholm. It was built in 1928 to provide homes for single, self-sufficient women with low income. At that time, it was challenging for an unmarried woman to get an apartment. It was short after women had gained the same voting rights as men. When the photographs were taken in 1992, the building remained largely unchanged because it had never been renovated. Today, it still serves as a home for self-sufficient single women.
