John Håkansson is a Swedish photographer and artist. He earned his degree in Photography from the University of Photography in Gothenburg and furthered his studies at the Academy of Photography at Konstfack, Stockholm. He explores various phenomena and locations in his art, frequently working in series, using repetition and sequences over varying time spans. He has an interest in the impact of human activity on nature. Landscape and architecture are common motifs, and suburbs are recurring subjects; his first book, I närheten, was photographed in all the Stockholm suburbs he has lived in. He has participated in several exhibitions, received grants, and published three books: Small: Mountains on Bam Boom Books, I närheten and Vita husen on Trema förlag.
